Mallory Neal, APRN-CNP, specializes in advanced heart failure at Oklahoma Heart Institute.
Mallory always knew that she wanted to become a nurse; the decision to pursue the career was an easy one to make because she enjoys taking care of others. After several years of working in the ICU and seeing different health conditions, she began to take interest in the cardiac cases. “I started out as a clinic nurse at OHI and that is when I knew I was in the right specialty. Cardiology was so fascinating to me,” she said.
Now, as Mallory works closer with patients and gets the opportunity to build relationships, she highlights the importance of communicating effectively and to show compassion. “I always try to learn something personal about the patient to make them feel I see them as a person and not just a patient,” she said.
Mallory’s advice to patients is to “take an active role” in your health and to be an advocate in the health care plan that is laid out together at each visit.
Outside of working at OHI, Mallory enjoys spending time with family and friends, being outside at the lake and crafting projects.
Mallory’s education includes:
• Master of Science in nursing from Maryville University, 2021
• Bachelor of Science in nursing at the University of Oklahoma (OU), 2011
• Associate degree in science/pre-nursing at Tulsa Community College (TCC), 2009
She welcomes new patients and accepts most insurance plans at:
