Kelsey Waller, APRN-CNP, works in the cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVICU) at the Oklahoma Heart Institute (OHI).
Waller decided to pursue health care after growing up surrounded by family members who worked in the field. “I loved hearing their stories growing up and knew I wanted to follow in their footsteps,” she said.
Waller fell in love with this medical specialty while doing rotations for school in outpatient cardiology and in the CVICU.
Now as a health care provider, she said, “my top goal is to provide the best quality of care to my patients.”
Prior to joining staff at OHI, Waller worked at Hillcrest Medical Center for more than seven years as a neonatal and delivery room nurse. She was also an adjunct clinical instructor at Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology.
Kelsey’s education includes:
• Master of science in nursing (MSN) degree at Maryville University of Saint Louis, 2021
• Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) degree at the University of Texas, 2018
• Associate degree in nursing at Oklahoma State University, 2015
• Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice at Northeastern State University, 2001
When not working at the hospital, Waller enjoys spending time with her daughter and husband, especially at the lake, camping and fishing.
