Taylor Monaghan, PA-C, specializes in electrophysiology (EP) at Oklahoma Heart Institute (OHI).
Taylor’s interest in electrophysiology started in his previous role, where he worked as an exercise physiologist. He said, “I was amazed at how much information we could get out of an EKG. I have continued to learn more and enjoy teaching others about the specialty.”
Now, as he works close with patients to determine what the issue may be and a plan for treatment, Taylor also focuses on his patient as a whole. He makes an effort to build a relationship with each person by trying to learn more about them outside of the hospital and figure out what motivates them in their day-to-day life.
Taylor is passionate about educating patients about their diagnosis and how to get back to a sense of comfort and normalcy. He said, “I enjoy teaching patients more about the areas of health we are trying to help them. Advising them on the tools to utilize and ways to be in control of their own health.”
When Taylor is not working, he can be found enjoying time spent with his wife, daughter and two dogs. He also enjoys spending time outside, traveling and going to the lake.
Taylor’s education and experience include:
• Master’s degree in physician assistant (PA) studies at the University of Oklahoma in Tulsa, 2021
• Master’s degree in health and human performance – applied exercise science at Oklahoma State University, 2015
• Bachelor’s degree in physiology at Oklahoma State University, 2013
