Julia Fayanne Chen, M.D., MPH, specializes in vascular surgery at Oklahoma Heart Institute.
Her clinical interests include aortic, peripheral, cerebrovascular and mesenteric disease. She has a special interest in complex aortic disease, including open and endovascular therapy for thoracic and abdominal aortic aneurysms and dissections. Dr. Chen is actively involved in clinical research and has published numerous cardiac and vascular journals.
Dr. Chen’s skills also include the ability to speak conversational Mandarin and Spanish.
Outside of work, Dr. Chen enjoys competing in triathlons.
Dr. Chen’s education and career experience include:
• Completed her fellowship in advanced aortic surgery at the University of Toronto in Ontario, Canada
• Completed her residency in integrated vascular surgery at Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven, CT
• Master's degree in public health (MPH) at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore, MD
• Doctor of medicine degree (M.D.) at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, TX
• Bachelor of Science degree in computational and systems biology with a specialization in bioinformatics at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA)
• Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA)
