Haley Waters, PA-C, specializes in general cardiology at Oklahoma Heart Institute.
Haley knew from a young age that she wanted to work in medicine. “I’m passionate about helping others and love the unique opportunity that medicine provides to make a positive impact in others’ lives,” she said.
Haley’s interest in cardiology has always been a strong one because of her family history with cardiology providers. “My grandfather first had a heart attack when I was very young, and over the years to come he worked closely with many different specialists who all helped to improve the quality and longevity of his life. I owe many happy years and sweet memories to his cardiology team,” she said.
Now, as a cardiology provider with personal experiences, she likes to relate that to her practice. “I like to build relationships with my patients by imagining them as my own friend or family member. Just like I would want the best for my grandfather, I want the best for each patient. I think each patient deserves someone who will go above and beyond to advocate for their physical, mental and emotional health,” she said.
Haley said, “My favorite advice to give patients is to never hesitate to reach out or ask questions. I totally understand that health care can seem complex and complicated, and I think it is so important to remember that you don’t need to try to figure it out on your own. That’s what we are here for!”
When Haley isn’t working, she loves to spend time with her husband, friends, family, playing with their dog, going on walks and spending time at the lake.
Haley’s education includes:
• Master’s degree in physician assistant (PA) studies at the University of Oklahoma (OU) in Tulsa, 2022
• Bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in biology at the University of Oklahoma (OU) in Norman, 2020
